February 11th talk ' Medieval Dyeing, Weaving and Silkwork' with Julia Bretherick- Strain and Gillian Griffiths

 We are holding a really exciting talk, with a presentation from Julia & Gillian who are members of Sir John Savile's Household Medieval Reenactment Society. They will be wearing mediaval costume and showing us items made using mediaval techniques.

January zoom talk

 This talk by Saima Kaur on her passion of  'Pholkaris folk embroidery was a great success, despite my zoom problems.

Saima gave a presentation of some of her own personal pieces along with photos showing how the shawl was worn. She also told us about the history and how families would pass them onto their family members.

The shawls/throws are higly decorated with symbolism and colour.

We had a good attendance and from the emails I received the members and visitors enjoyed the talk.
