'Stumpwork Figures' an day workshop with Sandie Maher 26th March 2022

 Sandie will teach us how to make stumpwork figures, by slowly going through the various stages. 

The workshop will run from 10.00am to 4.00pm and the price is £20.00pp. Payment can be made by BACS, chq or cash- 

Booking is essential and you can book your place by contacting Sue on douglasvalleycs@gmail.com   who will provide payment info.

On receipt of payment a requirement list will be provided. 





'Lets Boro a Bit' a mini workshop with Tracey Ramsay

 Tracey will be talking about Japanese Boro, its history and techniques. She will bring some samples of her work.

We will then have an opportunity to learn the basis techniques and work a few samples to take home.

   




Requirements for 12th March meeting

‘Let’s Boro a Bit’ – mini workshop with Tracey Ramsay

·        6 pieces of good quality cotton fabric approx. 6” x 4” (3 plain & 3 patterned 

in your chosen colourways)

·        Thread eg  Perle 12, crochet thread or stranded embroidery thread in 

your chosen shades.

·        Sharp needles with eyes big enough to take your threads

·        Sewing kit which contains small sharp scissors & fabric cutting scissors

·        Pencil & ruler

·        Tacking cotton or machine sewing cotton in colour that contrasts 

with your chosen colour theme.

NB Choose a limited colour theme say 2 or 3 colours only in 

contrasting colourways for more impact.

February 12th 2022 meeting 2.00pm to 4.00pm

We have a talk by Sue Tyldesley ' Loving Earth Project- a textile response to climate change' 

Sue will explain the project, its development and future.

She will tell the stories behind some of the panels, our responses and how these have been expressed in textiles.

This talk will link in with an exhibition of 50 of the panels at St Laurence's Church, Chorley 1st to 27th February.
