In May we will have a go at making embroidered tags in preparation for the them of our stall at Parbold Festival. Mel will lead the session, and will provide the card tags.
I will bring the bits box and members have been given a short requirements list below-.
Requirements for May 14th
Meeting
We will be playing with embroidered hanging tags which will then be our feature at our stall at
Parbold Festival. Think Small!!!

Sewing
Kit, which includes a variety of needles, sharp scissors etc
· A variety of hand sewing threads eg. Stranded embroidery thread, Perle textured thread & finer
sewing thread.
·
Pritt
stick glue
· Very small pieces of fabric in your chosen colourway- this could include fine muslin,
scrim, furniture/curtain fabric, plain or patterned snippets, lace or
antique
fabric eg old linen hankie etc
·
Little
buttons and embellishments.
I
will also bring a selection of materials etc for your use.
The colour raffle is Yellow- please bring your donations of thread, fabric or embellishments etc in that colour range.
we normally hold this in June but have changed the date for this year only to May.
If you have not already donated it will not be too late to bring items at the May meeting- please pass those to Donna before the start of the meeting.
NB the May meeting will start at 2.15pm so please arrive between 1.45pm and 2.00pm- we will still finish at 4.00pm as usual.
This change has been made by suggestion of the members and will give us a little longer to enjoy a speaker, mini workshop or stitch session.

Well that was different!!! I personally enjoyed the serendipity of David's techniques and loved playing with charcoal & erasers.
I'm sure some members were out of their comfort zone, but sometimes that is a good thing.
David was a good speaker, funny and clever. He gave a bit of his background in teaching, how he approaches his work and showed us some examples.
He never has a preconceived idea of what he is going to make and therefore just sees what happens.

Donna Eaton won the colour raffle 'Purple' and as you can see she was very pleased with it.
In fact I've just noticed she is actually dressed to match.
