All
items should be packaged or well presented.
·
All
items should be clearly marked with a price & the sellers name.
·
Seller
must provide a cash box or suitable box clearly marked with their name.
·
It
is a good idea to have a list of items for sale, with your name at the top of
the form.
·
Any
monies made are subject to 15% commission which
goes to branch funds.
·
The 15% commission should be counted by yourself and another & passed
to the Treasurer/s on the day preferably in a cash bag or similar showing the
amount, your name
and sales table commission.
·
Any of your items not sold on the day
MUST be taken home as you are responsible for those items.
Requirements for mini workshop-
The aim
of this session is to make your own sequins, using recycled items, fabric
scraps etc and then by layering and manipulating them, along with stitch or
beads you can produce a unique piece of art.
·
An
embroidery hoop 5” to 7” in diameter
·
A
base mid weight fabric which is slightly larger than your hoop eg. linen,
cotton canvas, denim, wool or felt.
·
A
needle with a smallish eye (ensure your chosen thread will go through the eye)
and sharp point & a tapestry needle with a sharp point
·
Embroidery
thread eg. Crochet thread, Perle or stranded embroidery thread.
·
Sharp
scissors to cut out sequins
·
Pen
or pencil/small ruler
·
Small
lid to draw round eg. Bottle top or old cotton reel
·
Small/medium
beads (optional) NB ensure your needle will go through the bead
·
Hole
punch or shape punches used for paper craft or shapes template.
·
A
few small containers to keep selections of cut sequins in eg. Small jam
jars/ice cream pots with lids/plastic pots with lids
you will also need 3 or 4 small different scrap materials to make the
sequins -
·
Paper/card, envelopes with patterned inners,
gift wrap, magazine pages, seed packets, coloured paper, wallpaper, cereal
boxes, sketchbook pages.
·
Fabric
scraps eg. Patterned cotton, mesh/net, lace, leather
·
Soft
metals eg. Foil, dessert pot lid, pie tin, flattened puree tubes (NB please
take care when handling metals as edges can be sharp)
·
Recycled
plastics eg. Packaging, wrappers, ground coffee packets, cellophane
Sue will bring some samples, additional fabric, threads, equipment
and materials so please do not go
out and buy anything- the idea is to use some
of your existing stash.
